Anti-wrinkle Injections
Anti-wrinkle injections are a revolution in non-invasive facial rejuvenation. At Skin A to Z, we offer expertise in comfortable, safe, and precise anti wrinkle injections. Treatments only take approximately 20 minutes and provide smoother skin for 4 to 6 months. Treatments involve an injection of a natural, purified protein to prevent muscles from contracting and has been used since the early 1980s for various treatments. With thousands of treatments performed annually, we ensure safe and effective results.
Suitable for: Unwanted lines and wrinkles
Downtime: None
Time: 15-30 minutes
Longevity: 4 months approximately
Not pregnancy safe
Anti-wrinkle injections, commonly known as wrinkle relaxers, stand out as the most efficient method for addressing lines and wrinkles. These relaxers are versatile, proving effective in treating various areas such as the frown lines, forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, brow lift, widened jawline, dimpled chin, and gummy smile.
Anti-wrinkle injections serve as a preventative measure to mitigate the appearance of expression lines resulting from facial movements. These injections are commonly used to address the natural progression of ageing, wherein the skin undergoes thinning and a reduction in elastin. Over time, the ageing process contributes to the development of wrinkles, creases, and lines on the skin. With advancing age and repetitive muscle movements, these lines become more pronounced, even in a relaxed state. Anti-wrinkle injections are utilised to help diminish and soften these visible lines and wrinkles on the skin.
As a popular treatment in New Zealand, Anti-Wrinkle Injections offer an effective approach to combat ageing signs by minimising muscle movement and the subsequent formation of wrinkles. Our team of professionals takes into account your desired outcome and the unique structure of your facial muscles to administer this treatment, targeting specific areas for a reduction in lines. Moreover, these injections can be beneficial in addressing medical concerns such as excessive sweating, migraines, teeth grinding, and facial slimming, catering to a comprehensive range of individual needs.
Anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking the transmitting messages between nerve and muscle cells, resulting in muscle cells being unable to contract. With the reduction of muscle contraction, the appearance of existing wrinkles are decreased and the formation of new ones are prevented.
At Skin A to Z, we always strive for results which work in harmony with your facial features. Our highly skilled practitioners are adept at delivering beautiful results with minimal discomfort using anti-wrinkle injections.
Anti-wrinkle injections (wrinkle relaxers) are useful wherever there are dynamic lines or areas of overactive muscle. Areas that can be treated include:
Frown lines
Forehead Lines
Crow’s feet/Periorbital lines
Bunny lines on the nose
Dimpling of the chin
Upper lip lines and corners of the mouth
Widened or square jaw
Platysmal or neck bands
Gummy Smile
Anti Wrinkle injections can also be used in conjunction with dermal fillers. Areas such as the lips, chin creases and marionette lines can benefit from this to prolong the effects.
The effectiveness of anti wrinkle injections has been well established and supported by medical evidence, with use spanning back to the 1970s. It has been used to treat a number of medical conditions since this time, and the use continues to grow.
Some conditions treated by anti-wrinkle injections include:
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
Cervical dystonia
Blepharospasm – uncontrollable blinking
Strabismus – misaligned eyes
Chronic migraine
Overactive bladder
Cerebral palsy
Where do wrinkles commonly form?
Crow’s Feet
Lines around the eyes are commonly referred to as crow’s feet. They often form as small creases when you smile and eventually spread down to the cheek area.
Frown Lines
Frown lines or the dreaded number ‘’11’ between the eyebrows can often make you look mad or stressed if they are present at rest.
Forehead Lines
Forehead lines result from overactivity of the ‘frontalis’ muscle, which works to elevate the eyebrow and is one of the most commonly used muscles of facial expression.
Bunny Lines
Bunny lines are those creases that form when you scrunch up your nose
Perioral Lines/Smokers Lines
Lines around the upper lip are quite common, especially once a woman reaches menopause. They are often due to smoking (constant pursing of the lips) however can occur in people who have never smoked
Length of session: 15 to 30 minutes
Length of recovery: None
While the risk of bruising around the outer part of the eyebrow from injections is minimal, there is a very rare chance (1:10,000) of experiencing a temporary heaviness in the eyelid known as “ptosis.” In the unlikely event that ptosis occurs, it typically resolves within 2 months.
Anti-Wrinkle Injections are a non-invasive procedure that effectively reduces the appearance of frown lines, laughter lines, and crow's feet. The results are subtle and enhance your natural beauty. With just one appointment, you can experience fast-acting improvements to your skin and facial features, resulting in a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance.
The length of the effects of Anti-Wrinkle Injections may vary based on factors such as the treated area and personal habits, such as sun exposure and smoking. Typically, the results of Anti-Wrinkle Injections can last between three to six months. To ensure optimal and long-lasting results, it is important to seek the services of a reputable cosmetic professional. With their expertise, you can enjoy a minimisation of frown lines for a prolonged period, resulting in a youthful appearance for a longer time.
Prior to undergoing Anti-Wrinkle Injections for frown lines, a comprehensive consultation is crucial. Each individual's facial features are unique and will inform their personalised treatment plan. Proper aftercare is essential to ensure optimal results, which may require multiple appointments. While the injection process is brief, it is important to allow time for the injection to take effect before observing the desired outcome.
To maximise the effectiveness of the injections, we recommend avoiding activities that may cause the injection to spread to other areas of the body, such as exercise, touching the face, wearing makeup, or air travel.
We offer Anti-Wrinkle Injections to target specific areas of the face where fine lines and wrinkles tend to develop. The most commonly treated areas include the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), and around the eyes (crow's feet).
Anti-Wrinkle Injections can also be used to address other areas of the face, such as the chin, nose, and neck, to achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Our experienced practitioners will work with you to develop a treatment plan that addresses your specific concerns and goals.
Ideal candidates for Anti-Wrinkle Injections are typically aged between 18 and 65 and have moderate to severe wrinkles or fine lines in targeted areas of the face. They should also be in good overall health and have realistic expectations for the treatment's results.
It's worth noting that Anti-Wrinkle Injections may not be suitable for everyone, and a thorough consultation with one of our highly experienced therapists is necessary to determine if the treatment is right for you.
At Skin A to Z we understand that our clients want to know how long they can expect the effects of Anti-Wrinkle Injections to last. While the duration varies depending on the individual, on average, the effects of the treatment typically last between three to six months.
Several factors impact the duration of the treatment's effects, such as the individual's metabolism, the specific targeted areas of the face, and the amount of product used.
When considering Anti-Wrinkle Injections, we’d like our clients to remember that Anti-Wrinkle Treatments do not provide permanent results, and regular maintenance treatments are necessary to maintain the effects. At Skin A to Z, we recommend scheduling follow-up appointments with our practitioners to ensure that your results remain consistent and natural-looking over time.
We often receive inquiries from our valued clients regarding the effectiveness of Anti-Wrinkle Injections in treating frown lines. We are delighted to inform you that Anti-Wrinkle Injections target frown line-related problems and can indeed provide an effective solution.
Frown lines are typically caused by the repetitive movements of the facial muscles, often resulting from facial expressions like frowning or squinting. Our Anti-Wrinkle Forehead Injections work by temporarily relaxing these muscles, which softens the lines and reduces their visibility, providing a more youthful and refreshed look.
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition characterised by excessive sweating in the underarm, hands, and feet. This can be treated with muscle relaxant injections that are injected into the skin of the underarm or hands to block overactive sweat glands. This treatment can last up to 10 months and has proven to improve the quality of life of affected individuals.

Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers consist of a crystal-clear form of substance that occurs naturally in the body. The dermal filler holds water, hydrating and giving volume to the skin. It creates volume for the treatment of lips, lines, wrinkles and facial folds.
It’s results are immediate and treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.
All our Dermal Fillers come with a local anaesthetic pre-loaded in the syringe which makes the treatment significantly more comfortable. We also prepare all treatment areas with numbing cream and can perform nerve blocks if further pain relief is required.
As we get older the production of our natural collagen diminishes. A single injection of dermal filler replenishes the lost volume and improves your look by enhancing your profile.
Dermal Fillers are most commonly used to enhance, define and enlarge lips, and to fill nasolabial folds, the folds from the nose to the corner of the mouth. It lasts up to one year, depending on the area being treated, the depth of the lines, the condition of the skin and the lifestyle of the individual. Most people return at 6-12 months for a top up.
We also perform advanced Dermal Filler treatments to rejuvenate and revolumise the ageing face, such as enhancing sunken cheeks for fuller facial contours, filling out the pre-jowl areas to improve irregular jaw lines caused by gravity, smoothing out hollows under the eyes or tear troughs for fresher looking eyes, and making the nose more attractive by straightening out noses that are deviated or have a bump.
Treatment with Dermal Fillers involves injection into the skin, you therefore may experience some discomfort, however local anaesthetic can be used to minimise pain. The side effects of treatment may include swelling, redness and occasional bruising. Other side effects may include minor lumps, itching or tenderness, which usually pass quickly.
We only use genuine premium fillers to treat the whole face, especially revolumising the mid and lower face, and also for lip enhancement and plumping lines around the mouth.
Dermal fillers are materials that are injected into the skin to improve the volume of the tissues.
Some temporary dermal fillers are composed of a molecule containing naturally occurring sugars which can bind water and so act to hydrate the skin. When we inject these gel-like dermal fillers into the skin, the body will break them down over time using normal metabolic processes. Other fillers that we use are composed of substances that stimulate collagen (bio-stimulators). These will also be cleared from the body over time.
We will discuss what dermal filler is available and may be suitable for your circumstances at the time of the consultation.
As we age, the volume of the tissues in our face gradually reduces. We lose fat, muscle mass and bone, reducing the support underneath the ageing skin (which is itself losing collagen and elasticity). This is what causes the facial contours to soften and sag inwards and downwards, especially in the lower face. Fat in the facial compartments is actually what gives us the full facial contours of youth.
Most of us lose our facial volume in a typical sequence. The first place is from around the eyes, followed by the middle of the upper cheek below the eye and the cheekbones. The areas on the sides of the mouth and nasolabial folds go next followed by the forehead. Then last, but not least, are the sides of the face (including the temples). Therefore our general aim is to replace the lost volume in these areas and so restore the youthful contours.
These days, it’s not only ageing that can change the face. As we become more health conscious, many of us are attempting and succeeding in losing weight. The weight loss that occurs also affects the volume of fat in the face. If you’ve achieved your target weight and love your flatter stomach, smaller thighs and bottom but aren’t happy with your gaunt face, we can address this appearance with dermal fillers.
The most commonly treated areas include:
Cheeks
Lips
Corners of mouth
Nasolabial folds
Under eyes - “tear troughs”
Jawline
Chin
Foreheads
Temples
Note that dermal fillers can also address fine lines in the skin and volume loss in other areas such as the back of the hands.
Dermal fillers can be used in both men and women who want to either enhance specific facial features such as their lips, cheeks or chin; or for adults who want to reduce the signs of ageing on their face and restore their lost facial volume of youth.
Generally, anyone over 18 years old can have dermal fillers. In younger patients, the concern is usually to increase the size of certain areas such as the lips and not so much to fend off the volume loss associated with ageing or significant weight loss.
Dermal fillers are priced according to the type and amount used. You pay for what you use. The volume used is based on the amount of volume loss that you want treated. As the most common dermal fillers are pre-packaged in 1 ml syringes, we generally work in volumes of unit mls. At your initial consultation with our physician you will be provided with the exact price of your treatment.
Dermal fillers can be used in combination treatments with anti-wrinkle injections, PRP, PDO threads and sometimes laser treatments.
We are specialists at combination treatments. This will be discussed at your consultation.
It is a common misconception that dermal filler injections will result in oversized cheeks or “duck lips”. The goal of a treatment is to restore your youthful contours, while still retaining a natural appearance. The volume of filler used depends on the amount of volume restoration required. If a large volume is required, we may elect to spread the treatments into several sessions over a few weeks or months. This ensures a gradual restoration and is more affordable.
During the consultation at Skin A to Z our practioner will go through your medical history, discuss your concerns and expectations, and then advise on the most appropriate treatment. If it is decided that dermal filler injections form part of your treatment program, it will be explained the estimated amount you will need (the cost), any risks to treatment and what to expect following the injection. Digital photography will be performed to record your baseline appearance and movement and the results of treatment.
The actual injection is performed with fine needles or injection cannulas and generally takes between 10 to 30 minutes, depending on how much volume is required. We aim to minimise the discomfort by using ice, anaesthetic numbing cream or using nerve blocks in the treatment areas. We may massage the area to ensure an even distribution of dermal filler within the skin during the treatment.
Unlike anti-wrinkle injections, you should be able to notice the effect of dermal fillers immediately. There will be some redness in the treatment area which usually fades within a few hours. There will always be some injection-related swelling in the treatment area over and above the added volume of the dermal filler. This swelling will usually resolve by 2-3 days. There may also be some bruising which is usually amenable to make-up camouflage.
After the injection you can usually return to work or home right away depending on the extent of any swelling or bruising. You are advised not to touch or rub the treated area as this can alter the shape of the injected dermal filler.
Subsequent treatments will be needed at approximately 9 to 12 month intervals to maintain the volume restoration (assuming you remain at around the same body weight).
The substances in our dermal filler injections are naturally occurring in the body and have been studied for over 2 decades. They have one of the best safety profiles of all prescription drugs and are considered safe.
Dermal filler injections are generally well tolerated and have few side effects. There is usually little downtime and it is a safe walk-in, walk-out procedure.
The most common side effects include:
Redness and swelling in the treatment area, which usually subsides within 2 days
Bruising, uncommon (but depends on treatment area - for example, lips are more likely to bruise than the cheeks), is related to the needle
Uncommon side effects include:
Dizziness, nausea (usually related to the act of injection)
Lumpiness, depends on area treated, usually amenable to massaging if occurring within the first few weeks of treatment
Provoking of cold sores if lips treated, in patients with a history of cold sores
Delayed onset lumps or nodules in the treatment site, typically occurs around 3 to 6 months. This is generally an inflammatory process (not usually infective) and can be managed without any significant complications
Very rare side effects Include:
Infection
Injection of filler into a blood vessel (we will discuss this at your consultation)
If you have a big event coming up, we would generally recommend having dermal fillers at least a week or two beforehand just in case there is any bruising or delayed resolution of swelling.
As of July 2021, a small number of patients who have previously had dermal fillers have reported swelling in the area of the fillers after a Covid vaccination.
This is usually mild, lasts a few days and is usually treated with a course of antihistamines.
The current recommendation is not to have a dermal filler treatment in a window period 4 weeks before and 4 weeks after a Covid vaccination.
The duration of action depends on the dermal filler used (and the particular treatment area) - typically they can last between 9 to 18 months (and sometimes longer if a larger volume has been used). There is also a range of longevity in different people as some patients break down the filler much faster (or slower) than others.
You will notice that your treated areas will start losing volume moving and gradually return to their pre-treatment appearance (assuming your body weight does not change too much). Ideally, we would advise retreating before full volume depletion occurs as this is best for maintaining the effect.
We do not recommend treatment during pregnancy or while breast-feeding.
The major advantage of the most popular dermal fillers is that the effect can be reversed.
The considerations around the reversal will be fully discussed at your consultation.
Anti-wrinkle injections help to smooth out fine lines associated with ageing in the upper half of the face by relaxing the muscle movement in those areas. Dermal fillers are used to create contours, fill in deep wrinkles and depressions, as well as enhance facial features.
Anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers can be combined in the same treatment session, depending on the type of results that you want to achieve. This can be discussed at the time of your consultation.

Bio-Stimulator Treatments
Bio-stimulators (also known as collagen stimulating injections) have multiple benefits. These injectables provide additional benefits compared to traditional hyaluronic acid fillers by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production to restore volume, smooth wrinkles, and improve skin texture over time.
Collagen is a protein that provides structural support to the skin. It accounts for 30 percent of your body’s protein, and is the primary building block of skin, muscles, tendon, ligaments and other connective tissues. In respect to the skin it provides strength, elasticity and firmness. Collagen is abundant in young skin, providing smooth plump and wrinkle free skin. As part of the normal ageing process, natural collagen production begins to slow down. From our mid 20s, collagen production decreases by about 1% per year, this is known as intrinsic ageing, with genetic factors playing a significant role.
External factors can also accelerate the process and include:
Sun Exposure & UV radiation
Smoking
Poor Diet and Nutrition
Environmental Toxins
Loss of collagen contributes to visible signs of ageing and the effects include:
Fine Lines and Wrinkles
Loss of skin laxity and sagging skin
Skin thinning
Uneven texture
Radiesse acts as a scaffold system beneath the skin, providing structure and stimulating collagen. Radiesse can help to address wrinkles, folds and sunken areas as well as lost collagen and facial volume. Radiesse contains tiny calcium-based microspheres in a water-based gel, which are naturally produced in the body. It is nontoxic, nonallergenic and compatible with your body’s natural tissues.
This treatment is intended for wrinkles, cheek folds and areas of fat loss in the face. This treatment is call a Pan facial. It can also be used for the back of Hands and Neck where volume has been lost.
Radiesse results are generally visible immediately, with full results appearing within a few weeks of the treatment. Some individuals enjoy long-term results for up to a year before repeat procedures are required, however, this varies amongst individuals.
Radiesse injections are carefully injected into the specific areas of concern. You may experience some pinching at the injection site, but there is little pain associated with the process. Radiesse requires little downtime and you should be able to resume your normal activities on the same day. Exercise at 24-48 hours after.
Before you receive Radiesse, you will have a consultation with one of our Nurses regarding any medications you are currently taking and your general health. Some medications like blood thinners or aspirin can cause bleeding or bruising at the location of treatment.
You may experience temporary redness, bruising, swelling and tenderness at the treatment site. The best solution is to apply an ice pack to the treated area after your treatment. If side effects persist, contact your practitioner.
You should not use Radiesse if you have an allergy to any component of the product, if you have a history of severe allergies, if you have a bleeding disorder or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Bio-stimulators are also known as collagen stimulators. They are designed to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production, and is used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines and loss of volume.
The bio-stimulator used at Skin A to Z in South Melbourne is composed of a calcium microspheres (similar to minerals naturally found in the body) suspended in a water based gel. This product is preferred as it has dual actions – it not only provides immediate results with volumisation, but also stimulates production of and is completely replaced by the body’s natural collagen over time – leading to longer lasting benefits in skin quality and texture for up to 18 months.
Collagen stimulators offer several benefits primarily by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. Advantages include: improved skin quality, restoration of lost volume, improvement in skin laxity, gradual improvement with natural looking results, long lasting effects for a year or more, reduced risk of migration compared to HA based fillers and versatility. Collagen stimulators can be used in various areas of the face and body, including the cheeks, jawline, submalar, marionette, chin, neck, decolletage, and hands. There is minimal downtime and is complementary to other treatments like ultherapy.
Collagen stimulators can be used in various areas of the face and body, including the cheeks, jawline, submalar, marionette, chin, neck, decolletage, and hands. It can also be used for the treatment of acne scars with subcision.
After a treatment with collagen stimulators you can expect immediate volumisation of the treated area if the product is used directly. We utilises a dilution technique to improve skin quality without volumisation for areas such as the neck, hands and décolletage. Over time, as the production of collagen is stimulated, improvements in skin quality and texture will be noted. Results can last up to 18 months, with gradual collagen remodelling and further improvements in skin texture and quality over time.
There are a few, common side effects associated with collagen stimulator treatments, most of which are minor. These symptoms include tenderness, redness, bruising and swelling at the treatment area and may last anywhere from two to five days, quickly subsiding on their own. Small lumps may also appear but will resolve spontaneously after a few weeks. Since bio-stimulators are non degradable, our practioners place a strong emphasis on safety and, as a precaution, focus treatment on lower risk areas of the face and body.
The number of treatment sessions that are required with biostimulators varies depending on individual factors including the treatment area, extent of volume loss or wrinkles and the desired outcome. In many cases one treatment session is sufficient to achieve results, however some individuals will require an additional session at three months.
Ideal candidates are those who are concerned about the signs of ageing such as wrinkles, fine lines, crepey skin, and loss of facial volume. Those who are interested in natural looking improvements to their appearance, wanting to improve skin quality, and are also interested in using a product that has a low risk of migration and build up over time.
Absolutely! Bio-stimulators can be combined with all other treatments offered at Skin A to Z.
When considering collagen stimulators, working with a safe and qualified injector is important to achieving safe and natural looking results. Dr Jacob and highlt trained and experienced trained nurse injectors possess the knowledge and experience to administer the treatment with care and precision, and in a safe manner minimising the risk of potential side effects. This approach ensures the results appear subtle, balanced and natural as possible whilst prioritising your safety and satisfaction.

PRP Hair Treatment
PRP therapy is an effective treatment for thinning hair, menopause hair loss, Post-hair transplant stimulation, Alopecia, with many patients seeing significant improvements in their condition after receiving the treatment.
PRP therapy works by injecting the patient's own concentrated platelet-rich plasma into the hair follicles, which stimulates and reactivates dormant or weakened hair follicles to produce thicker and healthier hair.
The process begins with a simple blood draw from the patient's arm; this is then placed in a centrifuge machine which separates the red blood cells from the plasma. The PRP is then injected into the scalp using a very fine needle, allowing the platelets to be delivered directly and efficiently to where they are needed.
Thanks to this process, hair follicles are nourished and stimulated in the scalp, resulting in an increase in blood flow to the area. PRP hair treatment typically requires a series of 2-3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, and results may vary from patient to patient, but all will be discussed during your initial hair loss consultation.
Menopause Hair Loss
PRP therapy has been shown to be a highly effective hair loss treatment for those suffering from menopause-related hair loss. The procedure helps to stimulate the scalp and repair damage caused by hormones, providing thicker, fuller hair.
Post-Hair Transplant Stimulation
After getting a hair transplant we use PRP injections to stimulate the newly transplanted hair follicles. This helps to shorten the healing time and increase the rate of successful grafts.
Male/Female Pattern Baldness
Platelet-rich-plasma therapy is an effective treatment for both female and male pattern baldness, as it helps to stimulate and repair damaged hair follicles. We will need to assess the stage of pattern baldness you are at before we can decide on the best treatment plan for you.
Alopecia
At Skin A to Z we have treated a number of alopecia sufferers with PRP therapy and have seen significant improvements in the thickness and growth of hair. This proves hair PRP treatment to be incredibly effective in reversing the effects of alopecia.
Thinning Hair
PRP therapy is an effective treatment for thinning hair, menopause hair loss, Post-hair transplant stimulation, Alopecia, with many patients seeing significant improvements in their condition after receiving the treatment. PRP is a better option if you have thinning hair rather than going for an invasive hair transplant surgery.
PRP therapy is a reliable hair loss treatment that can rejuvenate thinning hair for both men and women. This is because PRP contains proteins that help your blood clot and encourage cell growth, both of which are essential functions in hair regrowth. When administered by an expert clinician, PRP hair treatment can be used to prevent hair loss and promote the growth of new hair, transforming your look and giving you greater confidence.
Although PRP as a treatment for hair loss is fairly modern, multiple studies have shown encouraging results. These have primarily focused on treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) — also known as hormone-related baldness — which is a condition that can affect both men and women. You may also hear AGA being referred to as male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness.
Below is an overview of some promising results from PRP and hair loss studies:
A 2014 study published in the Journal of Cutaneous and Aesthetic Surgery, found that injecting two to three cubic centimetres of PRP into the scalp every two weeks for three months could increase the average number of hair follicles from 71 to 93 units — an average mean gain of 22.09 follicular units per cm². Although this study is too small to be conclusive (11 patients were involved), results showed that PRP injections may increase the number of hair follicles and that patients were delighted with the treatment.
In a 2015 study published in the Asian Journal of Transfusion Science, 10 people were given PRP injections every two to three weeks for three months. By the end of the three months, all 10 patients had good hair growth, with more hairs, increased hair thickness and improved hair root strength.
Another 2015 study, featured in Stem Cells Translational Medicine, reported the effectiveness of PRP on male pattern hair loss, with a randomised placebo-controlled trial conducted over two years. Twenty-three male patients enrolled in the study. Results showed a significant increase in the number of hairs in those patients injected with PRP, with the study concluding that PRP has a positive effect on male pattern hair loss without significant side effects.
A 2019 study that appeared in the International Journal of Trichology compared the effectiveness of PRP injections and minoxidil (Rogaine) with two groups of 20 people using each type of hair loss treatment. Thirty patients completed the study, with results indicating that PRP therapy performed much better of the two treatments. However, the study also found that your level of platelets impacts how well your plasma works as a hair loss treatment, indicating that those with a lower level of platelets in their blood may not find this treatment quite as effective.
One of the main benefits of platelet-rich plasma hair treatment is that the solution used is made up of your blood cells and plasma. Unlike with other treatments, this means there’s no risk of allergy or reaction. PRP also has the benefit of minimal side effects, which is a concern with other types of hair loss treatment for many people. Medication for male pattern baldness could increase the risk of erectile dysfunction. At the same time, for women, alternative treatments such as minoxidil can cause potential side effects such as facial hair growth and low blood pressure.
PRP hair treatment is a minimally invasive and low-risk treatment requiring no pharmaceutical products or downtime, making it the preferred choice for many people experiencing hair loss.
Most patients will require a first round of treatments involving at least two to three sessions, usually four to six weeks apart. Results are typically visible within a few weeks and will appear as a natural yet noticeable change. Optimal collagen regeneration can take up to three months. Results vary between patients but can last for as long as 18 months, after which you’ll need a touch-up appointment to maintain new hair regrowth.
PDO Thread Lift
PDO Thread Lift is an innovative non-surgical treatment involving the insertion of thread into the skin for a rejuvenated and lifted result. Our cosmetic doctor uses Mint mono PDO threads to address a range of concerns on the face and body such as sagging, loss of volume or elasticity.
A PDO thread lift is an innovative treatment that involves the insertion of thread into the skin for a rejuvenated and lifted result.
PDO Threads are made from PDO, short for polydioxanone. This is a biodegradable polymer that has been used for internal sutures for more than 50 years, and for aesthetic purposes since 2011. PDO is safely absorbed into the body through a process known as hydrolysis, which takes approximately 180-200 days.
Mono Threads – These threads have a smooth surface and are often used to improve skin elasticity, texture, and deep folds and grooves. They can be used for the face and body to tighten skin and promote collagen production.
Our PDO thread lift works to lift the skin and stimulate collagen by contracting tissues and inwardly pulling the skin. For Mono Threads in particular, specific changes in the surrounding tissues can also achieve fat reduction and tissue contracture.
The skin tightening results of PDO Threads occur as a result of the following changes:
Stimulation of new fibrous connective tissue
Merging with existing fibrous connective tissue
Tissue contractions due to myofibroblast activity
Increased size of capillary vessels
Fat cell denaturation that reduces the thickness of fat layers
Our thread lift treatment can target a range of areas to help you look and feel your best.
Common concerns we can treat with a PDO thread lift include:
Laugh lines
Marionette lines
Accordion lines
Buccal hollowing
Deep forehead and frown wrinkles
Crepey skin over the cheeks
Jawline
Neck lines (necklace lines), wrinkles and crepey skin
Décolletage wrinkles and crepey skin
Crepey skin on the abdomen (around the belly button)
MINT is the premium brand of PDO thread available!
PDO threads are brilliant for lifting, tightening sagging skin and for giving a rejuvenating appearance.
MINT threads are used to lift brow, mid or lower face (jowls), neck or arms they reposition and revitalizing overall skin tissue, providing a natural lift and tightening.
They work by mechanically lifting the tissue to stich it into a lifted position and also stimulate your own natural collagen production, to improve skin elasticity, texture, fine lines and volume for lasting rejuvenation.
Mint Lift Consumer Information
A MINT Thread is and absorbable thread used to redefine and restore lost elasticity and volume in the face. It should only be applied by a qualified Health Professional. PRP Facial
Would you like to achieve a younger-looking, youthful appearance without going under the knife?
Are you seeking an effective solution for undereye wrinkles and dark circles?
The PRP facial (platelet-rich plasma) may be your secret to younger, healthy-looking skin as well as reducing fine lines and wrinkles.
Our expert cosmetic practioners offer a PRP facial treatment that could be the solution to your skin concerns!
Plasma is a component found in your blood that contains proteins, that support cell growth. The PRP facial is a treatment that isolates the plasma from the blood and then concentrates it. Our doctors extract a small amount of blood which is then placed into our centrifuge which separates the PRP from the blood.
Injecting the PRP into the tissues of the skin, triggers your body to produce new, healthy cells and promotes healing. As the tissue growth factors are concentrated in the PRP injections, it stimulates our body’s tissues to heal faster.
PRP INJECTIONS ARE ALSO A GREAT TREATMENT FOR ANTI-AGEING AND SKIN REVITALIZATION!
The restorative properties of PRP for the skin are a great solution if you suffer from the following concerns:
Skin elasticity and volume loss
Crow’s feet and dark under-eye circles
Acne scarring
Dull skin complexion
Fine lines and wrinkles
PRP therapy is mostly used around the face, especially around the eyes, nose, and mouth. However, it can also be used on the backs of the hands and over the body, as well as the décolletage to present a youthful and more radiant appearance.
THE PRP FACIAL IS AN EFFECTIVE TREATMENT FOR THE UNDER-EYE AREA AS IT INCREASES BLOOD VESSEL GROWTH AND STRENGTHS COLLAGEN PROMOTING A REFRESHED AND YOUTHFUL APPEARANCE!
New blood vessels in the under-eye area allow nutrients and oxygen into the skin, resulting in a decrease in puffiness and loose undereye skin is tightened.
For PRP Facial Treatment we recommend a course of 3 treatments, one month apart. A top-up is then offered 6-12 months after to upkeep desired results.
Profhilo Treatment
Would you like to hydrate and rejuvenate your face?
Do you have crepey skin on your neck and arms that you would like to smooth and tighten?
Would you like the back of your hands to look younger?
If so, then Profhilo is the ideal treatment for you - Rejuvenate, hydrate, and stimulate collagen production today!
Profhilo is a series of pure hyaluronic acid injections, which hydrate the skin and trigger collagen and elastin production. Through bio-remodelling the skin, Profhilo dramatically improves its quality and appearance reducing fine lines and hydrating the skin from the inside out. What makes Profhilo different from competing products is the high concentration of Hyaluronic acid, a key ingredient for producing healthier, radiant skin.
The treatment process for Profhilo involves injecting the product in 5 points on each side of the face. The formula disperses across the whole mid and lower face. Profhilo is a bio-rejuvenator, bio-revitalise, and tissue stimulator.
Our Profhilo treatment is for those looking for an overall improvement in skin quality or those wishing to treat crepey skin on the face and neck. Top beauty editors have described Profhilo as the world's greatest moisturiser for the glowing skin it produces due to increased collagen levels. Dramatic Profhilo before and after photos reveal younger, brighter, and smoother skin.
The Profhilo treatment also works very well to rejuvenate the back of the hands, making them look younger or smooth. The product can again tighten loose skin on the arms. While Profhilo is not injected directly around the eye area, Profhilo under eyes treatment is one of our most requested places to treat. When injected lower down the face, Prohilo can dramatically smooth the eye area with less downtime than most under-eye laser treatments.
Profhilo is not the same as a dermal filler.
Although both contain hyaluronic acid, Profhilo does not have the same thick viscosity as a dermal filler. In contrast, Profhilo is a water-like gel with a similar constancy to honey and is injected in small amounts across the face. It spreads beneath your skin, stimulating collagen and elastin to improve skin tone, texture, and elasticity. The result is an overall more youthful, hydrated, glowing complexion.
Profhilo will enhance an entire area rather than fill one specific line or fold like a dermal filler. Profhilo can flow freely through the deep skin layers in a way that dermal fillers cannot, and it won't produce lumps and bumps. Profhilo is an excellent product for areas like the neck, hands, or arms where fillers are generally not used.
Profhilo is a medical practitioner only treatment as it is injectable. Your first step will be to book a doctor's consultation.
On the day of your consultation, your doctor will explain the treatment and advise if it is suitable for you. They will also recommend other treatments you may benefit from – often, clients have anti-wrinkle injections for the upper face and Profhilo for mid/lower face as Profhilo is not used on the upper face area.
Your doctor will also recommend which skincare products will work best to enhance your Profhilo result.
Providing there are no contraindications, you will be able to have your first Profhilo dose on the same day.
Numbing cream can be applied to your skin for 10-15 minutes before treatment if you would like (please request this on arrival at the clinic)
You will have a series of 5 injections on each side of the face, covering your mid and lower face.
You will not be treated on your forehead, nose, and under eyes – however, there will be a Profhilo under eyes result)
You will feel a stinging sensation on injection, and if you are concerned about the pain, we advise that as well as having the numbing cream you take two paracetamol tablets before your appointment providing you have no contraindications.
Immediately after, there will be small lumps on the face where the profile product has been injected; they will look like bee-stings and go down after around 30 minutes but can persist for up to 24 hours.
We advise you do not to put any products (including makeup) over the area treated for at least 6 hours.
Your practitioner will give your aftercare advice and will book you for your second dose in 4 weeks.
You may start to see a gradual improvement in the skin over those four weeks, but it is usually not until the second dose the client will see the result.

Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides treatment is formed from injectable DNA extract that stimulates collagen & elastin production which depletes as we age. Polynucleotides also deeply hydrate the skin, smoothing wrinkles & improving overall skin texture and condition.
Dr Jacob describes polynucleotide treatment as the 'Gold Standard' in skin rejuvenation across the under the eye area, face, and neck with Vogue calling this the treatment of choice for those looking for a"natural look" that gives "structure to the skin and is also deeply hydrating"
Consultation and Assessment - During your initial consultation, we take the time to understand your specifi concerns, expectations, and desired outcomes. Our cosmetic doctors will assess your under-eye area, face and neck considering factors such as skin quality, pigmentation, texture, and any existing fine lines or wrinkles
Treatment Plan - Following your consultation, our cosmetic doctors will develop a tailored treatment plan specifically designed to address your unique needs and will detail how many Polynucleotide Treatments you will need (normally 2 treatments each month apart)
Preparation - On the day of your treatment your first treatment can be performed if you wish - your cosmetic doctors will prepare your under-eye area for treatment. A numbing cream can be applied to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment.
Polynucleotides Injection -Cannula is normally used to carefully inject the Polynucleotides solution into the under eye area, face and neck.
The injections are strategically placed to stimulate collagen production, improve skin texture, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark circles under eyes.
Post-Treatment Care and Recovery - Following the treatment, you will be provided with post-treatment care instructions. It is important to follow these guidelines to ensure optimal healing and results. You may experience mild swelling under the eyes on the day of treatment which normally resolves within 24 hours.
Follow-Up and Results - If this is your first time having Polynucleotide treatment you will require a second treatment in 1 month. We then advise top-up up treatment every 6-9 months to sustain your result. While some initial results may be visible soon after the treatment, the full benefits of Polynucleotide under-eye rejuvenation tend to be seen after two treatments as collagen production is stimulated and the skin rejuvenates.
Patients typically requires 2-3 sessions, each 2-4 weeks apart. A top-up session every 6-9 months to sustain the results.
Polynucleotides (PN) is a very thin water-like substance which improves skin quality whereas traditional under eye filler/Tear Trough filler is hyaluronic acid which is a much more viscous substance and is designed to fill hollows under eyes.
Polynucleotide treatment works with the body's DNA to promote cellular regeneration. This innovative treatment stimulates collagen and elastin production, which are essential proteins for maintaining the skin's structure and elasticity and works to treat fine lines and dark eye circles.
There has been a recent rise in searches for ‘under eye fillers gone wrong’ this is due to the fact that hyaluronic acid-based fillers in tear trough filler can sometimes make the under-eye area appear puffier, as hyaluronic acid attracts water and can migrate. Polymononucleotide eyes will not ‘fill’ the under eye area and will not cause puffiness or migration of the product. The focus is on achieving natural-looking results that enhance the skin's elasticity, reduce pigmentation and minimize fine lines and wrinkles.
The Polynucleotide treatment is minimally invasive andd can be performed with either a cannula or a needle. Commonly clients experience mild swelling for 24 hours after treatment or 1-2 hours with a cannula.
The procedure is performed by our highly skilled doctors and nurses ensuring precise delivery of the treatment while minimising any discomfort. You can expect minimal downtime, allowing you to return to your daily activities the day after treatment.
Polynucleotides has a number of benefits:
Minimise Dark Circles - One of the primary concerns for many individuals is the presence of dark circles under the eyes. Polynucleotide treatment reduces the pigmentation and discoloration that contribute to the appearance of these dark circles. Impressively, results show that Polynucleotide Eyes improves under eye brightness in individuals by over 32 percent in as little as 4 weeks.
Improves Skin Elasticity - Loss of skin elasticity is a common sign of aging, leading to the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Polynucleotide treatment promotes greater skin elasticity, restoring a more youthful and supple appearance to the under-eye area. Polynucleotides are proven to increase skin elasticity by 22 percent on average in just weeks.
Reduces the look of under-eye hollows - Deep tear troughs can create a tired and sunken look. While Polynucleotides do not fill out these hollows like traditional filler, the treatment does help to subtly reduce the appearance of these under-eye depressions by plumping and rejuvenating the skin in this area.
Increases Cell Turnover - Cell turnover is essential for maintaining healthy and vibrant skin.Polynucleotide Treatment increases cell turnover, resulting in a fresher and more rejuvenated under-eye area.
Protects Against Free Radical Damage - Free radicals are unstable molecules that can damage the skin and accelerate the aging process. Polynucleotide possesses antioxidant properties that help protect the under-eye area from free radical damage, promoting overall skin health.
Hydrated under eyes - Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin that helps retain moisture and maintain hydration. Polynucleotides stimulates higher hyaluronic acid synthesis, ensuring that the under-eye area remains hydrated and plump.
Minimises Fine Lines and Wrinkles - Fine lines and wrinkles can be a source of frustration for many individuals. Polynucleotide Treatment stimulates collagen and elastin production. The improved skin elasticity reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes, helping to promote a smoother under-eye area
Improved Skin Texture - Polynucleotides have the ability to improve skin texture, creating a smoother and more refined under-eye area. This treatment can help reduce the appearance of roughness and unevenness, resulting in a refreshed and youthful look.
While the idea of undergoing a cosmetic procedure around the delicate under-eye area can be intimidating,Polynucleotide Treatment ensures both safety and comfort for patients. The treatment is carried out using a cannula, similar to traditional fillers, minimizing discomfort and reducing the risk of bruising. Although the procedure may cause some mild stinging, it is generally well-tolerated and over within minutes.
Both polynucleotide and Profhilo treatments are popular injectable options for skin rejuvenation, but they have key differences in their composition, mechanisms of action, and suitability for different concerns.
Here's a breakdown:
Composition:
Polynucleotides: These are chains of nucleotides, the building blocks of DNA. They are considered "biostimulators," meaning they encourage the skin's own cells to produce collagen and elastin, leading to a more youthful appearance.
Profhilo: This is a unique hybrid product containing hyaluronic acid (HA) and stabilized hyaluronic acid (HAHB). HA provides immediate hydration and volumization, while HAHB stimulates collagen and elastin production over time.
Mechanisms of action:
Polynucleotides: They work by binding to specific receptors on skin cells, triggering the production of collagen, elastin, and other essential proteins. This process takes time, resulting in gradual improvement over several months.
Profhilo: The HA in Profhilo hydrates the skin and adds subtle volume immediately, while the HAHB slowly releases over time, stimulating collagen and elastin production for lasting results.
Suitability:
Polynucleotides: These are often better for addressing concerns like skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles, and uneven texture in mature skin. They are also versatile and can be used on various areas, including the face, neck, décolletage, hands, and under-eye circles.
Profhilo: This is ideal for improving skin hydration, plumpness, and overall radiance. It's particularly beneficial for those with mild to moderate wrinkles and concerns about dryness and loss of volume. Profhilo is primarily used on the face and neck.
Additional considerations:
Results: Polynucleotides take longer to show results (3-6 months) but can last up to a year. Profhilo offers quicker visible improvement (2-4 weeks) with results lasting for about 6-8 months.
Cost: Both treatments are typically priced by the number of injection sites and the specific product used. Generally, polynucleotides tend to be slightly more expensive than Profhilo.
Downtime: Both are minimally invasive with minimal downtime. However, Profhilo often shows less bruising and swelling compared to polynucleotides.

Whether you have a few fine lines or more deeply etched wrinkles, you can benefit from this treatment. It is a versatile way to address your skincare concerns, even if they are more advanced. For that reason, it outperforms many other treatments that can only improve mild signs of aging.
The secret to the success of this injectable is the hyaluronic acid. This ingredient works naturally within your body to keep your skin hydrated and improve the appearance of wrinkles. Meanwhile, the gel itself restores volume to your face. By working in these two ways, this treatment can take years off your appearance.
The amount of hyaluronic acid your body produces, the volume of your skin, and your tendency to develop wrinkles are all interconnected. Young skin has plenty of natural fillers that keep it looking tight and smooth. Collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid are all important substances that maintain its structure and prevent wrinkles from forming. Of these, hyaluronic acid is one of the most important. It helps the skin retain moisture and keep its shape.
In our late 20s or early 30s, our skin starts to change. As we produce less hyaluronic acid, our skin thins and dries out, causing us to develop fine lines that progress into wrinkles. Without a strong structure, the skin starts to sag in certain places. Fortunately, by replacing the hyaluronic acid we lost, we can make a significant improvement in its appearance.
As soon as you receive this treatment, your skin will look smoother and healthier. The hyaluronic acid will go to work binding moisture to your skin, filling out your wrinkles and providing lift to the areas where you need it the most. One molecule of hyaluronic acid can help your skin retain over 1,000 times its weight in water.
Hydration is extremely important to your health. Since your skin is your body’s largest organ, it needs to be hydrated just as much as the rest of you. This treatment can address the gradual loss of your body’s ability to retain moisture by itself. It will give your skin the little boost it needs to stay healthy and attractive.
Not only are the results instant, but they also last a long time. You can expect to enjoy smooth, hydrated skin for at least six months after your appointment. Some patients report that their wrinkles continue to show improvement up to one year following their injections.
Yes: in fact, you can keep them up for as long as you want. Just make an appointment to renew this treatment when you see your fine lines and wrinkles start to come back.
Touch-ups are easy to do, and they don’t need to be repeated too often because the initial results last a long time.
This treatment has been FDA approved since 2011, and it has been performed for thousands of patients. Numerous clinical studies have shown that it has virtually no chance of causing lasting side effects. Both men and women can have this treatment, and it is effective for all skin types.
No! In fact, it is very gentle on your skin. Many people opt for this treatment because it offers real, lasting results without requiring surgery. In the past, people who wanted to see professional results from their anti-aging treatments had to get facelifts and other intense procedures. Injectables offer an alternative that improves wrinkles and volume loss in a minimally invasive way. They are more effective than most topical creams, but they are less involved than surgery.
Another reason people choose this treatment is that it is straightforward and can be done without taking time off work. Most patients are able to resume their normal activities immediately after receiving the injections. It is best to avoid strenuous exercise and rough massaging of the treated area for 24 hours after your appointment. This will ensure that the gel doesn’t move out of the targeted areas. However, you don’t have to try to keep your face still during this time. You can just relax and let the treatment work.
While this treatment makes a big difference in your appearance, the way it works is subtle. It does not freeze any parts of your face, and it uses an ingredient that occurs naturally in your skin. After this treatment, no one will know why your skin is so smooth unless you tell them.
These injections are designed to be as comfortable as possible, and most patients report no discomfort during their treatment. The gel is mixed with lidocaine, a local anesthetic. Usually, this alone is enough to make the process go easily. If you are still concerned, just let us know and we will apply an additional numbing agent topically.
Both Botox and dermal fillers can make a huge improvement in the signs of aging, however, they work differently. Botox is another injectable, but it is not considered a filler. It uses botulinum toxin to temporarily relax the muscle movements that cause wrinkles. Every time our skin creases to accommodate a facial expression, a line becomes etched on our skin. Botox keeps the lines away by preventing the movements themselves.
Dermal fillers do not address the muscle contractions. Instead, they restore the skin’s ability to move without wrinkling. Skin that has plenty of hyaluronic acid can.
Both treatments are effective, so your preferences and the condition of your skin should determine which one you choose. Botox can work as a preventative measure, and it is especially effective on fine lines and more mild wrinkles. Belotero works on moderate and severe wrinkles, and the effects usually last longer.
Many people choose to get both treatments. Since they work in different ways, doing the two together will give you all the benefits at once.
We care about your results and will make sure they look great. The way your skin responds to this treatment will depend on its current condition and other factors that are unique to you. We will do a full assessment for you to determine exactly how much product you need and where the ideal injection sites are on your face.
This is a matter of personal preference. Most people start to feel their skin changing in their late 20s or early 30s. When you notice that your skin does not retain moisture the way it used to, it could be a good time to start this treatment. Another sign that you might be ready is when you are no longer satisfied with the results of your at-home regimen and the topical products you use.
We hope we’ve answered many of your questions about this treatment. However, you can get even more information by coming in for a free consultation. We will take this time to show you our practice and get to know you as a patient. Together, we will discuss your current skincare routine and talk about how you would like to benefit from our professional treatments. After taking a look at the condition of your skin, we can make a customized plan that will help you achieve your goals.
Dermal Filler Removal
When you book to have dermal filler treatment, dermal filler removal is most likely the last thing on your mind – but it is still important to consider and be aware of. We encourage those seeking dermal filler to ensure that their practitioner also offers dermal filler removal.
Dermal filler removal is a very specialised procedure that uses a drug called Hyalase to breakdown the filler. Hyalase is a prescription-only drug which can only be prescribed by a doctor, dentist, or nurse prescriber in a clinic. If your practitioner is not a medical professional, then they will not be able to prescribe this drug for you and so it is always recommended that you enquire about the availability of fillers removal treatment in your dermal filler consultation.
Dermal filler can be removed with an injectable treatment known as Hyaluronidase or Hyalase. This is injected into the area treated with dermal fillers. Hyalase is already naturally found in the body just like hyaluronic acid is. The enzyme dissolves hyaluronic acid by breaking up the bonds that hold the HA molecules together. Once broken down, these molecules are naturally absorbed by the body with no adverse effects.
Your appointment time will last around 30 minutes, it will involve a consultation to discuss your concerns with the aesthetic nurse or doctor, they will examine the area to decide on the best course of action. If suitable for Hyalase treatment then this will be administered and injected into the area.
You will notice a reduction in volume to the area immediately after the treatment however swelling is common so it may be difficult to see the full effects from filler removal treatment so quickly. We advise patients to allow 72 hours for the treatment to take full effect.
Dermal filler removal treatment is suitable for anyone who has had hyaluronicacid (HA) filler. Dermal filler removal treatment with hyalase can be performed anywhere that you have had dermal filler placed including:
Lip filler removal
Cheek filler removal
Chin filler removal
Tear trough filler removal
Nasolabial lines filler removal
Jawline filler removal
We have highly qualified aesthetic doctors and nurses working at our clinics and their expert techniques are able to achieve the best results and lots of satisfied patients. However, some issues can be beyond our control and in these instances filler removal may be required. Patients who have had filler from unregulated practices may not be happy with their results and some may be left with long lasting lumps and bumps which may need to be removed before they have any further filler treatments.
Reasons why patients may need filler removal include issues with:
Filler Migration – When the filler moves from the area treated to another area of the face.
Lumps or Bumps – Lumpy or irregular texture that is not responsive to massage.
Infection – Infection can occur at the site of the injection.
Excessive Swelling – Swelling that has not reduced after 2-3 days.
Unwanted Results – When you are not happy with the results of treatment.
Vascular Occlusion – A very rare side risk of dermal filler when blood is no longer able to pass through a blood vessel within the area treated.
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy targets unwanted varicose and spider veins on the legs.
Sclerotherapy injects a solution, known as a sclerosant called Asclera®, directly into the desired veins through a fine needle.
Asclera® destroys the inner layer of the vessel by restricting its blood flow and causing it to collapse.
It may take up to two treatment sessions to achieve your
desired goals.
One of the best parts of the summer, is feeling sunshine on our skin. However, for many men and
women, the summer is something to worry about because it means either staying bundled up in pants during this hot season or showing off unsightly blemishes on their legs.
The mostcommon of these blemishes are spider and varicose veins, which appear as red, blue, and/or purple veins that show through the skin.
Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical treatment that can help remove these unsightly twisted, raised or sprawling veins from showing.
Walk confidently into the summer with
your refreshed legs!
Consultation:
You will first need to schedule a consultation at Skin A to Z.
During this consultation, you will discuss your goals with the procedure, and Dr Shareen Jacob, will evaluate your condition to decide if sclerotherapy is the right option for you.
Injections:
Dr Shareen Jacob will inject a sclerosant, directly into the spider veins. This solution restricts the blood flow in the vein and causes it to collapse. The vein is soon absorbed by the surrounding tissue and will fade over time.
Results:
Spider vein treatment with sclerotherapy restores smooth and clear skin, decreasing the presence of unsightly veins. It usually takes three to six weeks for your final results to show.
If you have either physical or mental discomfort due to the presence of unsightly spider and/or varicose veins, then injection sclerotherapy may be the right option for you.
While risks and complications are minimal with sclerotherapy, they can include:
Temporary hyperpigmentation
Temporary swelling
Temporary bruising
Allergic reaction
Inflammation
Blood clots (on very rare occasions)
Spider and varicose veins treated with sclerotherapy generally do not come back; however, as with any type of skin blemish, new veins can appear, as you grow older.
The average length of a sclerotherapy procedure takes anywhere from a half-hour to one full hour.
Rejuran I Treatment

Key Components and Benefits:
Polynucleotides (PN): These are DNA fragments that play a crucial role in the skin's healing process. By repairing damaged skin cells and stimulating collagen production, PNs help to improve skin quality and elasticity, thereby reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.
Application Method:
Rejuran I (Eye) is administered through a series of precise micro-injections, much like Rejuran Healer and Skinboosters. This method allows for targeted delivery of the polynucleotides, increasing their effectiveness in the area most prone to signs of aging.
PRP hair treatment is a minimally invasive and low-risk treatment requiring no pharmaceutical products or downtime, making it the preferred choice for many people experiencing hair loss.
Derived from salmon DNA, Rejuran harnesses the regenerative properties of salmon DNA to promote skin healing and regeneration. Originating from South Korea, where skincare innovation thrives, Rejuran has quickly gained popularity worldwide for its reliable results in all skin types.
The procedure involves the injection of Rejuran into the skin using a fine needle. The active ingredients in Rejuran stimulate collagen production, improve skin elasticity, and enhance overall skin texture. The treatment is minimally invasive and requires minimal downtime, making it an ideal option for busy individuals seeking effective skincare solutions.
Long-Lasting Results: Patients can expect to see noticeable improvements in their skin texture, tone, and elasticity shortly after undergoing Rejuran treatment. While individual results may vary, many patients report that the effects of Rejuran can last for several months to a year, providing long-lasting rejuvenation and revitalization.

Improves Skin Texture: Rejuran smoothens out fine lines, wrinkles, and other imperfections, resulting in a more radiant complexion.
Enhances Skin Elasticity: By promoting skin regeneration, Rejuran helps improve skin elasticity and firmness, reducing sagging and promoting a more lifted appearance.
Reduces Pigmentation: Rejuran helps to fade dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and other skin discolorations, resulting in a more even-toned complexion.
While traditional skin booster treatments primarily focus on hydration and superficial rejuvenation, Rejuran goes beyond the surface to target deep skin regeneration. Unlike traditional treatments that offer temporary results, Rejuran stimulates collagen production from within, leading to longer-lasting and more significant improvements in skin texture and elasticity.
In conclusion, Rejuran represents a new era in skincare, offering patients at Skin A to Z in Auckland a safe, effective, and innovative solution for achieving youthful, radiant skin. Double-chin Fat Dissolving Treatment
Get rid of double chin fat with fat dissolving injections Auckland!
Double chin injections, also known as submental fat dissolving injections or chin fat injections, is a popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure in the NZ that can reduce the appearance of a double chin with Kybella or Belkyra. The injections are designed to target submental fat, which is the fat that accumulates beneath the chin and breaks it down over time.
The most commonly used injection for double chin reduction contains deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps to break down fat cells. The injectable form of deoxycholic acid used for double chin injections is considered a safe and effective treatment.
The procedure involves multiple small injections of deoxycholic acid into the fat beneath the chin. The number of injections required will depend on the size of the treatment area and the amount of fat that needs to be removed.
Fat-dissolving injections can effectively reduce submental fat and improve the appearance of a double chin. However, not all patients are good candidates for this treatment.
Patients who are generally considered good candidates for fat-dissolving injections are those who have submental fullness or a double chin that is caused by excess fat. It is important to note that this treatment is not intended for patients with loose or sagging skin under the chin, which may require a different treatment, such as a neck lift.
These ‘double chin’ injections include a product which contains deoxycholic acid. This acid is found naturally in the body and helps absorb fat in food. When injected into the fat in the double chin area it permanently destroys the fat cells by a process known as adipocytolysis. Once the fat cells have been destroyed they cannot accumulate and store fat again.
Imagine your fat cells are balloons and double chin injections are darts. Injecting the product under the chin is like throwing a dart at fat cells. Once they have been popped they cannot be blown up again.
In addition to reducing neck fat, these lipolytic injections can also be used for body contouring for areas of the body such as the stomach or inner thigh.
Local anaesthetic and cooling packs are used to numb the area before treatment.
Small amounts of DCA are injected into the area at several points. The number of injections you need will vary according to the volume of excess fat you have. The doses will be tailored according to your need.
Most clients need at least two treatments (some will need up to a maximum of six treatments) and these are spaced four to eight weeks apart.
You can expect swelling in the area, sometimes significant swelling, for up to 14 days. You may also experience tenderness and bruising, warmth and tingling, small areas of hardness and itching around the treatment area.
This treatment is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
We will discuss the treatment and all possible side effects with you at your initial consultation and ensure all your questions are fully answered.
